In her capacity of French foreign trade advisor, Fabienne van der Vleugel has given a 2-hour conference this 9 October 2020 to the students of BTS International commerce of the Lycée Jean Vilar, in Meaux.

This was the opportunity for the students to get information about international commerce, and more specifically about the importance of writing and negotiating adapted and detailed clauses in the contract, and notably inserting correct management conflict clauses.

The characteristics of the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods have been described : mediation, arbitration, conciliation, collaborative process, participative procedure, and the differences with the judicial procedures.

The covid-19 crises also obliges international commerce actors to adopt accordingly their methods to handle disputes. Mediation via on-line adapted instruments constitute a modern way to construct a solid, definitive and adapted solution to a conflict.

The students of BTS International commerce of the Lycée Jean Vilar in Meaux, have had the opportunity to learn more about commercial disputes and ADR methods.
