Nomination as Vice-President of the sub-committee of the World Forum of Mediation Centers (UIA - Union Internationale des Avocats).

A certificate of specialization may only be delivered to an attorney at law admitted to practice in France if (i) he/she has a professional practice of at least 4 years (ii) he/she successfully passes an exam before a jury composed of, notably, a University teacher and a judge, and (iii) he/she may proof, each year, a continuous training program in the specialization.

A certificate of specialization in COMPANY LAW has been delivered to Fabienne van der Vleugel on 7th December 2011 by the President of the Board of Directors of the Paris Bar School (the so-called, in French, Ecole de Formation du Barreau).

Fabienne van der Vleugel has been granted the certificate of professional mediator delivered by the EPMN (so-called in French, Ecole Professionnelle de la Médiation et la Négociation).

The law N°2011-311 dated 28th March 2011 modernizing the legal and judiciary professions has defined a new legal deed in the benefit of the contracting parties, individuals or enterprises: the attorney's deed.

After publication of this law, VDV AVOCATS has adapted its internal organization to offer the clients the opportunity to have such attorney's deed.

Concretely, what does it mean?

As usual, VDV AVOCATS continues to accompany the clients during the negotiation and writing of the contracts to protect clients' interests.

Now, in conformity with this law, VDV AVOCATS may also countersign the negotiated deeds and affix on it the specific seal « Acte d’avocat » (attorney's deed).

Such a seal guarantees and certifies that both contracting parties (individual or companies) have been duly and fully informed about the content, the impact and the consequences of all negotiated clauses contained in the deed.

Attorney's deeds participate to the security of the legal private and business contractual relations.

Attorney's deeds may be used in a large variety of legal situations, each time you are called to negotiate and sign an act or a contract.

In your private life, you may be called to sign a lease contract, an acknowledgment of debt, a sales contract or a donation of a movable property, a guarantee.

In your professional life, you may be called to negotiate and sign a commercial lease contract, a guarantee, the sale of your business unit, a sale and purchase agreement of shares.

The CMAP (Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris) is organizing the 3rd edition of the French national competition of mediation in Paris.

25 teams participated to this competition, which takes place at the School Advancia-Negocia. This competition gives the opportunity to the students to play the role of a mediator for helping parties having a conflict to define the best solution. Professionals are invited to play the role of the parties and evaluate the performance of the students.

This is a great opportunity for students to test their skills as mediator.

Fabienne van der Vleugel, CMAP accredited mediator, was a member of the jury and accepted to play the role of a party.
