The openings of the colloque are organized by M. Guillaume KRAFT, Director of the ESCI and M. Jacques HEMON, Director of the colloque.

The first part of the colloque is dedicated to the importance of the culture in the business and the management.

During this first part, Fabienne van der Vleugel is speaking about “Practicing law with respect of the culture: negotiation of contracts and management of conflicts.”

As lawyer admitted to practice in New York, Brussels and Meaux, she has demonstrated how the practice of law, the negotiation processes and the management of the conflicts may be handled in adequation with the culture differences.

Speaker during the 16th UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres, Lisbon, Portugal : “From Theory To Practice, the Tricks and Traps ».

The Forum brings together the most important business mediation and ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) centres from around the world and offers an opportunity to exchange views on the development of ADR and best practices.

The Forum meets every 9 months. The working sessions are interactive and animated by high-level experts.

During this Forum, one of the topics was : « From Theory To Practice, the Tricks and Traps ».

Fabienne van der Vleugel, accredited mediators working in Belgium and France, together with Greeek and UK mediators have given to the participants some expert tips and tricks, based upon concrete experiences. The purpose of this session consisted in describing plainly specific traps you may encounter at each phase of the mediation, in order to help meditaors to avoid or handle them efficiently.
