The Chamber of Trades in Chelles has organized a meeting for companies' managers and shareholders who are intending to sell or acquire companies.
Fabienne van der Vleugel has been asked to describe the various legal documents that must be negotiated during such process and which kind of organization is necessary, notably :
(i) letter of intent : what is it? is it necessary or useful?
(ii) what is the role of suspensive conditions? why do we sign a promise before the sales contract?
(iii) what are the differences between the sale of shares and the sale of business?
(iv) why do we organize an escrow account?
(v) what is the role of an asset and liability guarantee?

She has been nominated vice-president of the sub-committee of the UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres (cf. VDV news 01.02.2012) and, in October 2014, co-president (cf. VDV news 28.10.2014).
In Thessalokini, she is one of the speakers for the session "Changing the Mind-Set" together with Rahim SHAMJI, Director of Education and Training ADR Group, London UK, Elena KOLTSAKI, ADRg/Mediation Institute of Thessaloniki Trainer, and Rosemary JACKSON, QC London UK (moderator of the session).

The OHIM’s first ever IP Mediation Conference took place in Alicante, Spain. This was the opportunity to study the impact and importance of mediation in IP fields.
The OHIM asked Fabienne van der Vleugel to discuss the following topic : "Leave the law outside the door. Commercial interests come first".
This was the opportunity to analyse various questions : do we really have to put aside the law to manager commercial oriented solutions? how do we negotiate and handle law at the same time? place of lawyers in mediation?
Fabienne van der Vleugel has analysed this matter with a very practical viewpoint with the following conclusion: "... ok, go ahead with mediation, but do not definitely close the door ... leave the door open.." (power point presentation on OHIM website, see below).
