SPECIFIC QUALIFICATION: Transfer and restructuring of enterprises.

A certificate of specialization may only be delivered to an attorney at law admitted to practice in France if (i) he has a professional practice of at least 4 years (ii) he successfully pass an exam before a jury composed of, notably, a University teacher and a judge, and (iii) he may proof, each year, a continuous training program in the specialization.

The law organizing the specialization French regime has been recently adapted. The indication of a specific qualification within the specialization is authorized, in order to inform the clients about the lawyer’s special fields of action.

A certificate of specialization in COMPANY LAW together with the recognition of a specific qualification for “Transfer and restructuring of companies” has been delivered to Fabienne van der Vleugel on 14th MAY 2012 by the President of the National Council of Bars (CNB).

The certificate of specialization in French COMPANY LAW covers: commercial and professional company law, mergers and acquisitions, associations, foundations.

4th edition of the French national competition organized by the CMAP.

The CMAP (Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris) is organizing the 4th edition of the French competition of mediation in Paris.

This competition, which takes place at the School Advancia-Négocia, gives the opportunity to the students to play the role of a mediator for helping parties having a conflict to define the best solution. Professionals are invited to play the role of the parties and evaluate the performance of the students.

This is a great opportunity for students to test their skills as mediator.

Fabienne van der Vleugel, CMAP accredited mediator, participates for the 2nd time to this competition for the CMAP, for playing the role of a party and as member of tne jury.

Nomination as French Foreign Trade Advisor.

Fabienne van der Vleugel has been nominated French Foreign Trade Advisor in conformity with Decree dated 1st March 2012.

The objectives of the French Foreign Trade Advisors consist in giving information related to the international business, having an advisory role, and informing students in international courses.

7th ICC International commercial mediation competition in Paris.

The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition is the most prestigious international event organized in the the mediation field.

Fabienne van der Vleugel has again activley participated to this 7th competition.

This year, the South Texas College of Law (USA) came in first, before the Bar Ilan University (Israel). Both teams participated to the FINALE which was of an exellent level.

Fabienne van der Vleugel was one fo the three judges of this FINALE together with Alan LIMBURY (Australia, Strategic Resolution) and Ronald AUSTIN (France, Clifford Chance). The FINALE was mediated by Geoff SHARP (New Zealand, Sharp Commercial Mediation).

Fabienne van der Vleugel was also honoured to participate to the Competition Problems Working Group and authored the text "ETHAJAC CREAM" which has been chosen by ICC for the quarter-final rounds.

In 2012, 66 teams from 32 countries participate to the ICC Competition.

During 5 days, students are testing their skills to solve business problèms created by the Competition Problems Working Group gathering international mediation experts. Professional mediators are mediating the preliminary rounds, the eight, quarter, semi-final rounds, and the finale.

During this prestigious event, students are testing their hability to efficiently use mediation. They ameliorate their expertise, meet professionnals and students from all over the world, and have the opportunity to meet with leading international commercial médiators.
